Addison village planners soon will be considering an Oakbrook Terrace developer’s proposal for a 53-acre industrial subdivision south of Army Trail Road and west of Swift Road.
Village trustees recently got a glimpse of the proposal, which calls for annexation of the unincorporated property and rezoning to designate the property as a planned office/research/industrial district.
“It is a very sizable project,” said Gary Reschke, assistant community development director. “The quality they suggested sounds like a high-quality industrial project.”
Reschke said Oakbrook Terrace-based Industrial Developments International expects to purchase at least two dozen properties within the 53-acre area — several of which include homes — to build the industrial subdivision.
Developers are proposing nine buildings totaling 720,359 square feet. The buildings would be used for offices, showrooms and light industrial business.

The first in a series of public hearings on the proposal is scheduled for Tuesday before the Village Board and the Plan Commission.
