Addison village planners soon will be considering an Oakbrook Terrace developer’s proposal for a 53-acre industrial subdivision south of Army Trail Road and west of Swift Road.
Village trustees recently got a glimpse of the proposal, which calls for the annexation of the unincorporated property into the village and rezoning that would designate the property as a planned office/research/industrial district.
“It is a very sizable project,” said Gary Reschke, assistant community development director. “The quality they suggested sounds like a high-quality industrial project.”
Reschke said Oakbrook Terrace-based Industrial Developments International expects to purchase at least two dozen properties within the 53-acre area–several of which include homes–to build the industrial subdivision.
Developers are proposing nine buildings totaling 720,359 square feet. The buildings would be used for offices, showrooms and light industrial business.
The first in a series of public hearings on the proposal is scheduled for June 13 before the Village Board and the Plan Commission.
