Organizers of Batavia’s summer millennium celebration are searching for a three- to four-minute song to represent the city’s history and its future.

Batavia ACCESS Fireworks Committee is planning a celebration from June 30 to July 4, which will conclude with a fireworks display and a special salute to the community.

“We are asking the community for a song that best represents the theme of the celebration, `Batavia 2000 . . . and beyond,’ ” said Steve Savanyu, fireworks committee member and stage manager for the fireworks show.

Suggestions may be made by calling fireworks chairman Roger Breisch at 630-879-8522, or sending a cassette to the committee at 100 N. Island Ave., Batavia, IL 60510.
