District 120 has named Hillyn Sennholtz the new principal of Mundelein High School.
Currently an associate principal for curriculum and instruction at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Sennholtz was selected during a process that included interviews with six teams of community members, school board officials, teachers, staff, parents and students.
“I am ecstatic that we found someone who is an extraordinary match for our needs at Mundelein High School,” Supt. Arthur T. Newbrough said. Sennholtz has a broad base of experience that will help the school integrate innovative ideas in the curriculum, he said.
“She has enormous shoes to fill, but she is up to the task,” Newbrough said. The current principal, John Davis, is retiring at the end of the school year after 35 years with the district.
Sennholtz holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics, a master’s in administration from Illinois State University and a doctorate in curriculum and supervision from Northern Illinois University.
Before working at Glenbrook South, she was an associate principal at St. Charles High School and taught at Buffalo Grove High School and Wheeling High School.
