Park department personnel are preparing to survey about 300 residents regarding the type of equipment they would like to see in a planned tot lot in their neighborhood.

Parks and Recreation Director Glenn Bilina said after a committee meeting Tuesday that Ashbourne Hills Park is expected to be completed in August and will be the sixth park in the village.

The park site, about 66 feet long by 33 feet wide, is at the southwest end of Ashbourne Lake and is necessitated by the growing number of families in the nearby Pepperwood subdivision, according to Bilina.

“We try to put in a new park every year, ” Bilina said, adding that could continue for three or four more years.

Cost of the park is estimated at about $25,000, but could go higher because the park is being newly constructed rather than refurbished, officials said.
