Every Lincoln-Way High School senior will get a chance at a campus parking slot next year, but those with good records will have an edge, Supt. Lawrence Wyllie told the school board last week.
Even with construction work over, parking spaces will still be at a premium during the coming school year.
The school will continue its traditional parking lottery for seniors, the only students permitted to drive to school.
Every member of the class of 2001 will get one parking lottery chance, and those who meet one or more of the following criteria will get an additional chance: three years of participation in school activities, perfect attendance, class rank in the top 50 percent or three years without discipline referrals.
A student with two chances can only get one parking place even if both his or her tickets are drawn in the lottery, to be held June 12.
A parking spot is awarded for the whole school year, but parking privileges can be suspended if student drivers don’t get to class on time four or more times.
