Tongue-wise, Columbia College’s pan-Asian spoken-word performance is a better bargain than its husband-and-wife poetry reading. “I Was Born With Two Tongues,” which features several local Asian-American poets, is about one person with two tongues; the Denise Duhamel-Nick Carbo reading, of course, features two authors with two tongues. Both events are free. “Two Tongues” is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the downtown college, 623 S. Wabash Ave. (312-344-7523); the authors of “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Secret Asian Man,” respectively, speak at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, also at Columbia (312-344-8139).
