St. Patrick coach Mike Bailey said Friday that recent transfer David Rivera is getting “a little more confident with our system day after day.”
That’s not good news for the rest of the East Suburban Catholic Conference.
Rivera, a junior transfer from Weber, had 15 points and 19 rebounds and sophomore Chris Mroz connected on 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter en route to 16 points as St. Patrick rallied for a 53-46 victory over St. Viator.
The Shamrocks (6-1, 4-0) trailed 39-36 in the fourth quarter before taking control of the game with a 10-0 spurt.
Bremen 45, Thornton Fractional North 37: Cerron Pritchett scored 17 points, including 11 in the third quarter as Bremen pulled away from T.F. North (2-6, 0-3).
Deerfield 81, Maine West 68: Jason Kaplan scored 19 points and Nick Rossie added 15 to lead Deerfield (5-2, 2-0) in the Central Suburban North.

Downers Grove North 65, Lyons Township 50: Host Downers North (3-4, 2-1) sank 19 of 26 free throws in the fourth quarter in the West Suburban Silver victory over Lyons (4-2, 2-1). Drew Carstens scored 22 for Downers (3-4, 2-1).
Fremd 60, Barrington 54: Ryan Long’s 24 points helped Fremd (7-1, 1-1) win in the Mid-Suburban West. Aaron Ritter and Mike Klear each scored 18 for Barrington (2-6, 0-2).

Kankakee 77, Rich Central 64: Kankakee rolled in the SICA South behind Marcello Robinson’s 22 points. Derrick Murphy had 21 points for Rich Central (5-3, 1-1).
Lake Park 74, Neuqua Valley 62: Adam Cibulka scored 37 for Lake Park (5-4), which outscored Neuqua 29-9 in the fourth quarter for the Upstate Eight victory.
Lake Zurich 74, Woodstock 69: Lake Zurich (8-1, 5-1) prevailed in the Fox Valley behind Shaun Clements’ 24 points and eight rebounds. Casey Tebo and Wes Stock each scored 17 for Woodstock (8-1, 5-1).
Lisle 66, Reed-Custer 50: Sophomore Joe Cortez scored 31 points for Lisle (4-3, 4-0). Ryan Cougill scored 18 for Reed-Custer (5-4, 1-3 Interstate Eight).

Montini 96, Marian Central 62: Ryan Neill’s 28 points and Pete Mastandrea’s 24 sparked Montini (7-1, 3-1) in the Suburban Catholic.
Morton 66, Downers Grove South 57: Morton won in the West Suburban Gold with Dan Houdek’s 30 points. Eric Richmond scored 20 for Downers South.
Mundelein 54, Antioch 38: Mundelein (7-1, 4-0) won in the North Suburban behind Brian Lueders’ 26 points.
