Gone but not forgotten are the many victims of AIDS, and to commemorate World AIDS Day and the void left by those silenced by the disease, the Chicago Cultural Center’s “Day Without Art” displays unfinished works, left-behind artistic tools and empty chairs. The remembrance, which also includes speakers and performances, begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 78 E. Washington St. Free. 312-744-1424. (Also at the center, from 5:30-8 p.m., will be an `’All the Trimmings” benefit, featuring a silent auction of artist-made ornaments and holiday items. Tickets: $10-$50. 312-922-2322, ext. 375.) For the same cause, the Museum of Contemporary Art will display two panels from the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, and play host to a literary reading and ceremonial candle lighting. The MCA’s day of programs begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday at 220 E. Chicago Ave. Museum admission: $4.50-$7 (free for members and children under 12). 312-280-2660.
