player ready...For the second time in two years, Tinley Park homeowners could see a property-tax decrease–and they may provide funding toward a new library as well.
Trustees are considering a property tax-levy of nearly $8 million, an 8.2 percent increase over last year’s. But owing to growth, the combined tax rate for the village and library is projected to be $1.042 per $100 of equalized assessed valuation, lower than last year’s rate of $1.125.
A home with a market value of $141,000 would see a decrease of approximately $25 annually in the village and library portion of the tax bill, based on growth estimates.
The Village Board is scheduled to vote on the levy Dec. 7.
