Commuting won’t be a problem at the new rental complex now under construction in west suburban Naperville.
Called Railway Plaza, it’s less than a 5-minute walk from the Metra commuter station just west of Illinois Highway 59 and less than a 5-minute drive from Interstate Highway 88.
The Wiseman-Hughes Enterprises development is planned for 417 rental apartments in 13 three-story walkup buildings. One building is completed, another is almost finished and four others are under construction.
The project will be completed by next September, according to James Hughes Jr., partner in Wiseman-Hughes.

Monthly rents range from $995 to $1,665, plus a refundable $300 security deposit.
Hughes noted, though, that the residences were designed for future conversion to for-sale condominiums. “The units are 15 to 20 percent larger than normal rental units in the area, plus all have individually metered water, electricity and heat. The rental market is strong now, but three to five years down the road Railway Plaza could be converted to condos,” he said.
Apartments range from 840 to 1,326 square feet with one to two bedrooms and up to two baths. Most second- and third-floor apartments have fireplaces. All have washer/dryers, 9-foot ceilings, storage area and either a patio or deck. Pets are welcome.
Two models can be viewed.
Amenities include a clubhouse with a business center, conference room, exercise room, heated pool and bicycle storage, landscaped grounds and a concierge service starting next spring.
Lincoln Properties will provide on-site leasing and mangement at Railway Plaza, which is located on the south side of North Aurora Road, immediately west of Illinois Highway 59.
