The New Lenox Plan Commission has recommended against filing legal objections to business uses on unincorporated land.

Villages are routinely consulted about land use proposals on unincorporated property within 1 1/2 miles of their borders. They can file a legal objection to uses that do not meet with their approval.

Property owners John Kinney and Loretta O’Rourke are seeking a special use permit from Will County for 10 acres at 2015 Maple Road. The land, which contains a home and a kennel business, is zoned agricultural, according to their attorney.

Another request involved subdividing two lots east of Gougar Road. Carmine Corsetti wants to subdivide his land into two lots so he can sell to his current tenants. Both tenants operate businesses.
