Robert Hoge, owner of the Valley Community Bank in Batavia and St. Charles, is leasing the former First Chicago bank downtown at Wilson and River Streets.
Renovations will begin next week, and Hoge said he hopes to move his small Batavia branch into the new downtown location early next year. The branch is two blocks east in a shopping center.
The new location will expand bank space to 7,000 square feet from 800 square feet, Hoge said, and allow the Batavia site to include a full loan operation as well as drive-up services.
