The Hinsdale Center for the Arts’ 10th annual holiday show and sale will be the regional arts agency’s biggest ever, according to organizers.
The center’s 1999 The Art of Giving sale, which opens Nov. 13 and continues through Dec. 22, will feature the works of 104 artists and craftsmen from throughout the United States.
Among the items for sale will be hand-blown glass ornaments, watercolors, stained glass, hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, Russian folk toys, dolls, Santas, baskets, silk scarves, capes and other unique clothing.
For the first time, the sale will also include jazz, classical and holiday CDs and cassette tapes by Chicago-area musicians. Proceeds will benefit programs at the Hinsdale Center for the Arts, which served more than 100,000 residents of 54 west suburban communities last year.
The show is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and Fridays and Saturdays; from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursdays; and from noon until 5 p.m. Sundays. There is no admission charge.
An artists’ reception and preview night for members of the Hinsdale Center for the Arts is scheduled for Nov. 12. For more information, call 630-887-0203. The center is located in Katherine Legge Memorial Park, 5903 S. County Line Rd.
