About 1,300 customers in unincorporated DuPage County near Glen Ellyn were without water service for more than 5 1/2 hours over the weekend after a county well was shut down for repairs and a backup well malfunctioned.

County officials said service was disrupted from 1:15 to about 7 p.m. Saturday, to 336 homes and businesses in an area bounded by North Avenue on the north, Swift Road on the east, St. Charles Road on the south and Glen Ellyn Road on the west. A boil order was lifted Monday morning, officials said.
