St. Charles attorney and former Assistant State’s Atty. Meg Gorecki will formally announce her candidacy for the Republican nomination for Kane County state’s attorney Thursday at a noon news conference at the Hotel Baker, 100 W. Main St., St. Charles.
Gorecki, 31, will join a crowded field that is expected to include her former boss, two-term incumbent David Akemann, and Joe Grady, an Aurora attorney and retired Illinois State Police master sergeant who announced his candidacy in June.
Gorecki coordinated Akemann’s 1996 campaign.
