Elgin Community College’s Visual and Performing Arts Center’s upcoming season will reel in a variety of entertainment options.
The college’s 1999-2000 Marquee Theatre Series will kick off at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 with “Lost Highway: The Music & Legend of Hank Williams.” Tickets are $40.
At 2 and 8 p.m. Nov. 13, “Luma: Theatre of Light,” featuring a magician known as Marlin, will bring to life “music, motion, trapeze artists and light” in depictions of fireworks, carnival rides, computer screen savers and more. Tickets are $23.
The college will trot out the musical warhorse “Pump Boys & Dinettes” for shows at 2 and 8 p.m. March 18. Tickets are $40.
“TAP–Caution: Men at Work” celebrates blue-collar workers with precision dancing and music. Tickets for the April 14 show, which closes the Marquee Theatre Series, are $40.
The college’s sixth CenterStage Series begins at 3 p.m. Oct. 17 with a festival showcasing flamenco guitarists. Tickets are $27 and $28.
Folk-pop crooner and storyteller Jim Post will share a bill with jazz violinist Randy Sabien at 8 p.m. Nov. 5. Tickets are $24 and $25.
Chanticleer will sing a varied a cappella repertoire at 8 p.m. Dec. 4. Tickets are $34 and $35.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago will appear at 8 p.m. Feb. 5 and 3 p.m. Feb. 6. Tickets are $26 and $27.
The CenterStage Series will close with a St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Fiddle Fest at 8 p.m. March 17.
