As a teacher and a coach, Lockport’s Barb Burk understands the importance of punctuality, which is why her tardiness at Lockport’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony Wednesday night may have surprised a few people.
Her delayed arrival was likely forgiven–even if she was at least an hour late–considering Burk was busy coaching her third-ranked softball team in a 13-inning 2-0 victory over previously unbeaten and second-ranked Stagg.
Amy Ligmanowski doubled home LaToya Campbell in the 13th for Lockport’s first run, and Jessica Sullins singled in Ligmanowski for the final score.
