A dozen teams of high school students have signed up to compete in the west suburban region’s Envirothon, to be held April 7 at YWCA Camp in Valley View.
Sponsored by the Kane-DuPage Soil & Water District and the Naperville-based Conservation Foundation, the daylong event tests participants’ knowledge of aquatics, forestry, soils and wildlife.
Participating schools are Bartlett High School, Batavia High School, Burlington Central High School, Downers Grove North High School, Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville, Aurora East High School, Elgin High School, Geneva High School, Mooseheart High School, Naperville North High School, Westmont High School, and Wheaton Warrenville High School.
The top team from each county will advance to the state Envirothon competition in May.
