Country music icon Garth Brooks, who’s spending spring training in the San Diego Padres’ camp, nearly two-timed his own team Saturday. Brooks showed up bright and early for the Padres-Rockies game in Tucson, Ariz. Just one problem: He was at Tucson Electric Park, home of the White Sox and Diamondbacks, rather than across town at Hi Corbett Field, the Rockies’ home base.

Brooks was approached by several autograph-seekers as he walked from his car toward the Sox’s complex. When one fan asked him whether he was making a special appearance, Brooks said he had a game. The fan informed him of his error, then offered to jump in his pickup truck and lead Brooks to Hi Corbett. Brooks accepted and made it to the right stadium in plenty of time for the opening pitch.

Brooks entered the game in the eighth inning, going 0 for 1 with a putout in left field.
