Steger President Lou Sherman said this week that the Village Board will consider earmarking $8,000 of its budget in May for membership in the Chicago Southland Alliance.
Sherman was responding to a presentation by the alliance’s marketing director Sherry Marnell in which she promised that the group will regularly provide Steger with pertinent information about businesses interested in moving to the south suburbs.
Marnell said the Chicago Southland Alliance targets economic development promotion and recruitment; workforce development; small business assistance; business retention and expansion; infrastructure and utility assessment; municipal services; government relations; and housing.
