Village trustees on Monday delayed approving a 39,700-square-foot addition to Glenbard North High School until school district officials find more spaces for parking on or near the campus.

Glenbard High School District 87 officials will consider whether to restripe the parking lot, rent more space at a nearby church or come up with another way to add more than 20 spaces.

The high school district has a variance on complying with village parking requirements and needs to continue receiving the waiver the village granted five years ago because there still is not enough parking space on campus for faculty and staff.

The matter could again come before the Board of Trustees at 8 p.m. April 5 at Village Hall.
