To pay tribute to the silent film era, movie theaters should turn off their sound and television watchers should click their “mute” buttons for an entire day. But if that’s too much to ask, there’s “The Eagle,” a silent 1926 classic in which the ultimate hunk, Rudolph Valentino, plays a Russian Robin Hood who thwarts the evil Czarina Catherine II (Louise Dresser). “The Eagle” screens at 8 p.m. Friday at the Gateway Theatre, 5216 W. Lawrence Ave. Tickets are $10, or $8 in advance. 773-777-9438.
