player ready...Two women from Lowell, Ind., were killed Tuesday night when the van in which they were riding collided with another van in unincorporated Crete Township, authorities said.
Kathy McColley, 54, and Sharon Hutchings, 57, were ejected from one of the vans near the intersection of Illinois Highway 1 and Crete-Monee Road about 9:45 p.m., a spokeswoman for the Illinois State Police said Wednesday.
Both women, who were passengers in the van, died later at area hospitals, police said.
The van, driven by Antoinette Gibson, 47, of Lowell, was traveling eastbound on Crete-Monee Road when it went through a stop sign at the intersection and struck the second van, police said.
Gibson was listed in good condition at St. James Hospital and Health Center in Chicago Heights, a spokeswoman said.
Four passengers and the driver of the second van were treated and released from St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Dyer, Ind..
It was uncertain Wednesday if charges would be filed, a state police spokeswoman said.
