A not-for-profit agency that works with local banks and governments to provide lower-income families in St. Charles with below-market home-repair loans recently has expanded to include the Batavia and Geneva area.

The agency also has changed its name to the Mid-Valley Neighborhood Improvement Association from the Neighborhood Improvement Association of St. Charles.

“Certainly there are qualified people in these towns that could use low-cost loans,” said Gloria Klimek, executive director of the 6-year-old agency.
