New Trier committed 15 turnovers and struggled with foul trouble against No. 10 Buffalo Grove on Saturday.

But the 18th-ranked Trevians also had Katie Romey, who scored more than half of their points to lead them to a 60-42 victory in the Buffalo Grove/Maine South tournament.

“We were able to get Katie the ball in good places where she could take good shots, and she just knocked them down all day,” New Trier coach Teri Rodgers said of Romey’s 31-point performance.

New Trier (2-0) led 26-19 at the half and took control with a 16-6 run in the third quarter. Buffalo Grove had 30 free-throw attempts, connecting on 20. But Romey was the only double-figure scorer in the game.

Piper Mead led Buffalo Grove (1-1) with nine points.

In an earlier game at Buffalo Grove, Maine South (1-2) defeated Libertyville 58-50 as Colleen Van Hoesen scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Laura Paine added 16 points. Diana Steplyk had 11 points for Libertyville (1-2).

Schaumburg tournament: Alicia Ratay scored 34 points as third-ranked Lake Zurich (5-0) knocked off Wheaton Warrenville South 58-33. . . . Ashley Serena scored 14 as St. Charles (1-2) defeated Wheaton North 55-47. Nicole Grace had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Wheaton North (0-3). Schaumburg (3-0) never trailed in its 46-44 victory over Glenbrook South (2-1). Andrea Brooke had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Kristin Stewart had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the victors. Keagan Thalin scored 18, including 15 on three-pointers, for Glenbrook South.

Lyons Township tournament: No. 4 Lyons (2-0) used 23 points by Amanda Papuga in its 62-39 victory over Prospect (0-2). . . . Homewood-Flossmoor (2-1), led by Theresa Pusateri’s 12 points, held off Queen of Peace (1-1) for a 59-57 victory.

Maine West 51, Thornridge 31: In a non-conference game, Julie Just scored 15 points for No. 7 Maine West (3-0).

Deerfield tournament: Katie O’Grady had 23 points to lead No. 8 Fenwick (2-0) in its 59-31 victory over Glenbrook North (3-1). . . . No. 11 Warren (3-0) used 24 points by Becky Moo in its 63-41 victory over Regina (1-2). . . . Hawley Newhouse’s 17 points helped Lake Forest (2-1) edge Round Lake 52-51 in double overtime. . . . Sarah Kwasinski scored 17 to guide Resurrection (3-0) past Niles North 55-45.

Melissa Wagner’s 14 points paced Lane Tech (1-2) in its 57-19 victory over North Chicago (0-2). . . . Stefani Bonato scored 15 for Deerfield (3-0) in its 59-50 victory over Leyden (1-2). . . . Waukegan (3-1) beat Woodlands 50-32 behind Kenja White’s 24 points.

Naperville Central tournament: Kristi Faulkner scored 17 points as No. 9 Glenbard West (3-0) defeated Elgin 50-38. . . . Sarah Kustok scored 32 points and Tracy Hoffmann added 19 as No. 17 Sandburg (3-0) routed Proviso West 81-48. . . . Mary Ellen Schaefer’s 15 points helped No. 14 Benet (3-0) cruise past Downers Grove North 63-29. . . . Rebecca Traen scored 14 points for Naperville Central (3-0), which connected on a school-record 11 three-pointers in its 68-32 victory over East Aurora.

Hinsdale South tournament: No. 16 Hinsdale Central (2-0) pulled out a 45-43 victory over Rich East (0-2) with Morgan Kasperek’s 12 points. . . . Behind Becky Kostal’s 14 points, No. 20 Hinsdale South (3-0) beat Plainfield 55-46.

Andrew tournament: Zakiya Weisinger scored 11 as Thornwood (4-0) beat Rich Central 46-41 to win the round-robin. Glamora Meyweather had 21 points in defeat.

Dundee-Crown tournament: Cary-Grove prevailed against Machesney Park Harlem 44-43 with a 12-4 fourth-quarter run. Kristin Kedzior had 20 points for the victors.

Fenton/Elk Grove tournament: At Fenton, Jenny Wessel’s 14 points led Grayslake (4-0) past Zion-Benton 40-19. . . . Gaby Fonzetti had 13 points and 9 steals as Niles West (3-1) downed Westmont 45-36.

Francis Parker 55, Wauconda 35: Lizzie Kaplan’s 20 points sparked Francis Parker (1-0).

Glenbard South tournament: Rolling Meadows (2-0) rolled past Morton 57-37 behind Ellen Ryan’s 16 points. Antionette Gross had 18 to lead Morton (1-1). . . . Meghan Barkman had 16 points in Glenbard South’s 52-26 victory over Timothy Christian (1-1), and the Raiders (2-0) held Timothy Christian star Kellie Carwell to only two points.

Harvard tournament: Immaculate Conception (3-0) took the title game 45-30 over Harvard as Joanne Katsigiannis scored 14 points.

Luther South tournament: Anna Rainey’s 36 points and Janet Henry’s 27 led Luther South (2-0) past Longwood 70-37.

Mundelein tournament: Cassie Horgan hit a free throw with 6 seconds left in overtime as McHenry (1-1) edged Carmel 45-44. Kelly Krombach, who tied the game at the end of regulation with two free throws, led Carmel with 15 points.

Rich South tournament: Kara Bruxvoort scored 22 points and Val Wories chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds as Illiana Christian (2-1) routed Bremen 83-27. . . . Reed-Custer (2-0) held on for its 67-65 victory over Kankakee (2-0). Jennie Brown connected on four three-pointers en route to a 19-point night. Jamie Gathing scored 29 points and grabbed 21 rebounds for Kankakee. . . . Karen Kama had 22 points to lead Chicago Christian to a 59-43 victory over Rich South.
