BLUE LIGHT
By Walter Mosley, Time Warner AudioBooks, approximately 3 hours, abridged, $17.98. Read by Tucker Smallwood.
Walter Mosley leaves his best-known character, Easy Rawlins, and the mean streets of Los Angeles behind in this psychological-suspense drama, which takes place in the San Francisco Bay area in the 1960s. As unexplained rays of blue light fall on Earth, humans are pushed toward a higher plane of understanding, and a charismatic hippie is turned into a prophetic leader.
