Officials of Elgin District U-46 have given the green light for a $30,000 work-order change that, once finished, should complete a $2 million track-and-field construction project at Streamwood High School.
During a special board meeting Monday, members voted to approve the work order, which is contingent on the dismissal of all pending litigation. District attorney John Wren refused to comment on the legal situation.
Board members also refused to comment on any potential litigation involving the project. Two years ago, Guse Erickson Co. of Lombard was awarded the $2 million bid to build the Millennium Field.
The field was built to accommodate both the Bartlett and Streamwood football teams, which didn’t have their own field and were using one at Elgin High School.

Millennium Field opened for the football season last year and again last spring, but problems with the construction have prevented the field from being used this fall.
