THE THIRD MAN
By Graham Greene, The Audio Partners Publishing Corp., 3 hours, $17.95. Read by Martin Jarvis.
Love, murder and intrigue play out in post-war Vienna as pulp-fiction writer Rollo Martins investigates the apparent death of his old friend Harry Lime. As he tries to solve the mystery, Martins’ quest for answers brings him into contact with a host of questionable characters. The mood and tempo of this recording are reminiscent of the 1949 movie that starred Orson Welles. Narrator Martin Jarvis’ performance is first-rate.
