The Chicago Cajun Aces, Andrew Calhoun, Cosy Sheridan and Lou Killen are among the nearly three dozen acts that will perform on the main stage at the 21st Annual Fox Valley Folk Music & Storytelling Festival.
The event, considered to be Illinois’ biggest folk fest, is scheduled for Sept. 6 and 7 at Island Park, located on the Fox River at Illinois Highway 38.
Dozens more performers from the Two Way Street Coffee House in Downers Grove, the Warrenville Folk Music Society, the Aurora-based Fox Valley Folklore Society and other Chicago-area folk organizations will be featured on smaller workshop stages.
In addition to music and storytelling, the festival will feature folk dancing, an old-time barn dance, jam sessions, food vendors and children’s activities.
Festival activities will be held from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. both days; the site is wheelchair accessible. Suggested admission donation is $10 per day for adults and $8 per day for seniors and teenagers, and children are admitted free. The fest is sponsored by the Fox Valley Folklore Society and the Geneva Park District.
