The Newport Folk Festival, Friday at Tinley Park’s New World Music Theatre, has canceled the entire lineup of second-stage acts.
All mainstage acts, including John Hiatt, Nanci Griffith and Joan Baez, are still scheduled to perform, beginning at 3 p.m. The canceled second-stage lineup was to include Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Chris Stills, Peter Case and Alejandro Escovedo, among others.
Escovedo and Case will perform a concert at Schubas Tavern in Chicago instead; the show will take place at 1 p.m. Friday and the $7 cover charge will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
