Lord of the horror pics Kevin Williamson has given us “Scream” and “Scream 2.” He has put his stamp on “Halloween: H20.” But Williamson’s brain is now engaged with “Dawson’s Creek,” WB’s teen romance hit. Calling from a car, en route to Jersey, he is typing rewrites for “Dawson,” a show he calls “fun, sweet, innocent.” Some adults disagree. “I was totally surprised by the adult reaction. I never thought it was provocative.”
Now, Kevin’s awaiting reaction to “Halloween: H20,” which takes place 20 years after the original “Halloween.” It’s out this week. The first “Halloween” is what “made me really want to make movies,” says Kevin. And while he is a co-exec producer for “H20,” fans will pick up his input: “You’ll hear a `Dawson’s Creek’ line every so often.” Why the hots for horror films? “It keeps me a kid.”

To have Clint Eastwood say of Malkovich: “He always shines, but every once in a while a script comes that really lets him do his stuff.”
Scary thought: A chain of Sinatra-themed eateries with music, memorabilia and Jack Daniel’s? It’s an idea Frank Sinatra’s kids are mulling, says the New York Post. . . . To mark the first anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, more than 20 British TV programs are in the works, including an all-Di quiz show and a film about people visited by her in their dreams.
They’re back: Six roses that arrive each Aug. 1 at the British Consulate here, commemorating the Battle of Minden in 1759, were delivered this week as they have been for 30-plus years. Each year, the consulate tries to determine the anonymous donor, but the mystery is no closer to being solved. Says the consulate’s Caroline Cracraft, “We absolutely don’t have a clue.”

Go figure: The braces-and-training-bra set welcomed the Hansons–Zachary, Isaac, Taylor, mom Diana plus sibs–to Planet Hollywood Friday with posters, gifts and screams. A Detroit group that had waited three days got to meet the trio. But we hear that an adult trying to keep order, faced a fan who spouted: “You better let me meet them or you’re off this planet.”
