“People are more focused on home and hearth today, so we decided to build a development where all ages can live together,” said Edward Havlik, president and chief executive officer of United Homes.
United’s newest project is Mirage, a 1,100-home subdivision to be built on 317 acres in suburban Joliet.
Planned as a multigenerational development, it will offer several different housing types, in prices ranging from $89,990 to $199,990.
The 100 courtyard-style townhouses have 885 to 1,452 square feet and are priced at $89,990 to $118,990. With two or three bedrooms, they are designed for first-time or first move-up buyers.
Catering to retirees are two ranch plans in attached and detached configurations. Offering 1,273 to 1,505 square feet and two to three bedrooms, they are priced from $133,990 to $153,990. Fifty-six of them will be built.
The bulk of the residences at Mirage–740 single-family homes–will range from 1,220 to 2,800 square feet and $133,990 to $153,990. They have two to four bedrooms.
Seven models are scheduled to open in August, according to Havlik.
The Mirage land plan calls for curving streets, cul-de-sacs, green space, 10 ponds, jogging trails, a play lot and a gazebo.
Annual assessments at the master-planned community will range from about $84 to $98.
A new magnet preschool will be built and United will donate land for an 11-acre school site.
Although located in Joliet, Mirage will be served by Plainfield schools and have a Plainfield mailing address. The sales center is on the northeast corner of Caton Farm Road and County Line Road.
