What is billed as the world’s first International Elm Conference will be held Oct. 1-3 near Lisle’s Morton Arboretum, home to the largest collection of elm species in North America.
The conference, which will take place at Hamburger University on the McDonald’s corporate campus in Oak Brook, is expected to attract researchers from around the world.
Christopher Dunn, Morton Arboretum director of research and conference coordinator, said, “Never before have researchers from across the globe had the opportunity to gather in one location and participate in dialogues with their scientific peers about issues that affect the world’s elm population.”
