SUMMER SISTERS
By Judy Blume, Simon & Schuster Audio, 3 hours, abridged, $18. Read by Annabeth Gish.
Grab your beach towel, sunglasses and this selection when you head to the beach this season. Set mostly on Martha’s Vineyard, it’s a story about the bond between two girls from different backgrounds. Caitlin Somers is privileged and unpredictable, and Victoria “Vix” Leonard working-class and practical. Blume traces their lives from pre-adolescence to adulthood, with lots of romance and family travails along the way.
