Glenbard High School District 87 is examining ways of getting students through lunch with fewer hassles.
The district is looking at rescheduling lunch periods and finding other places for serving food to reduce the waiting time in cafeteria food lines. District officials will also find another place to serve food at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, where the cafeteria is small, and a separate serving area would take pressure off the main cafeteria.
Lunch is served in three, 25-minute periods starting at 10:30 a.m. Board members were told that students can wait sometimes as long as 20 minutes to get their lunch. As a result, many students bring their own lunches.
