Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Ever wish you were an Oscar Mayer wiener? That dream can come true, but only if you’re a pint-size hot-dog fan. At the west suburban blowout known as BrookFest on Friday, kids ages 3 to 10 will have a chance to audition for an upcoming Oscar Mayer commercial. All kids have to do is offer renditions of the famous “Bologna Song” (you know, “My bologna has a first name …”) and the “Oscar Mayer Weiner Jingle.” The tryouts will be videotaped, and the winner of the talent search may get to go to the contest finals in Florida later this year, where the national winner will be chosen (note to parents-the national winner will receive a $20,000 college scholarship). The talent contest will be held 6-9 p.m. Friday; the rest of BrookFest, which includes bands, food and fireworks, continues through Sunday at JC/Ehlert Park, at Elm and Gerritson, in Brookfield. Admission is $2 per person. 773-868-3010.
