A 17-year-old Elgin boy was killed Tuesday after the Pontiac Grand Am he was riding in and a dump truck collided at Big Timber Road and Illinois Highway 31, police said.
Caleb Bundschuh of the 0 to 100 block of Belle Avenue was pronounced dead at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.

The car’s driver, a 17-year-old boy, and another passenger, a 16-year-old girl, were listed in serious condition Tuesday night at Sherman Hospital, according to a nursing supervisor.
Both victims also are from Elgin. Police did not release their identities.
The truck driver, Kathleen Markl, 49, of Island Lake, was not injured, police said.
Police said the Pontiac was heading north on Illinois 31 at 12:19 p.m. when it turned left onto Big Timber in front of the truck. The truck slammed into the passenger side of the vehicle.
No tickets had been issued as of Tuesday night.
The intersection of Big Timber and Illinois 31 was closed for about four hours after the crash.
