The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in finding an armed-robbery suspect who police believe held up a gas station in unincorporated Beach Park over the weekend.
Police said a gunman carrying a shotgun or a rifle entered the Marathon Gas Station, 37763 Green Bay Rd., at 11:40 p.m. Friday and demanded money from the cashier.
Police said the suspect, whose face was captured on a video surveillance camera, was not wearing a mask.
“He told the clerk, `Give me all the money,’ ” said sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Robin.
Robin said the clerk opened the register and gave the gunman $371. Nobody was injured.
The suspect fled north on foot, Robin said.
The suspect is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, medium build, with collar-length blond hair. He was wearing a blue baseball cap and a long black coat.
