Glenbard High School District 87 officials Wednesday told neighbors of Glenbard West High School that the planned renovations for the Glen Ellyn campus would cause minimal traffic problems.

About 10 residents attended the session, which gave them a glimpse of plans for a new field house, physical education facilities, student commons area, library, classrooms and laboratories.

The renovations would maintain the architectural integrity of the 75-year-old building, school board member Tom Voltaggio said.

The meeting was in preparation for a series of public hearings before the Glen Ellyn Plan Commission. A session, scheduled for Thursday evening in the Civic Center, will focus on expansion of Biester Gymnasium into a field house.

Glenbard West and the district’s three other high schools will undergo renovation projects. Work is slated for completion by the 2000-01 school year.
