Q. I really miss”The Larry Sanders Show” now that it has ended its HBO run. Is it going to be shown in reruns?
A. During the”Sanders” series finale some weeks ago, guest star Jerry Seinfeld told the neurotic talk show host played by Garry Shandling how much he was looking forward to seeing reruns of Sanders’ show in syndication.
“Oh, that’s right,” Seinfeld then corrected himself.”That’s me.” Smugness aside, Seinfeld is correct.
According to a Columbia TriStar spokeswoman, we won’t see”Sanders” repeats anytime soon, either in syndication or on home video.
Part of the problem with syndicating”The Larry Sanders Show” is that its adult subject matter would prevent it from being shown on the networks and many cable channels.”We tried in the first season to tape alternative versions,” Shandling once said,”and every time we did, the language came out dirtier.”
