A survey of Cherry Hill subdivision residents presented to the New Lenox Park Board Tuesday indicates they want a park on the grounds of the new Cherry Hill School on Washington Street.

According to the survey results, most residents want playground equipment and open space with a picnic pavilion placed at a distance from the residential area.

Park commissioners said $40,000 has been allocated for the park but all the school construction has to be finished first.

A new Cherry Hill School that will become the kindergarten center for New Lenox School District 122 is under construction. The old school building is targeted for demolition.
