The Steger Planning Commission has agreed to endorse plans for a 4-acre family development northwest of 34th Street and Sherman Road.

Brothers Michael, John and Peter Pacelli want to divide the parcel into four roughly 1-acre lots. Each brother will build a home on the property, which already is zoned for residential use, according to the Pacellis’ attorney, John Cifelli. Access would be on Sherman Road.

The Pacelli brothers can now take their proposal to village trustees, who have the power to approve or reject the change. The next Village Board meeting is scheduled for Monday.

The Pacellis had been scheduled to present their proposal to the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 13. But that meeting was canceled when only three of the nine commissioners attended.
