State Sen. William Mahar (R-Orland Park) and state Rep. Renee Kosel (R-New Lenox) presented the Village Board with an oversized mock check Tuesday night, representing the $200,000 in state money Tinley Park has received toward annexation costs for the Tinley Gardens subdivision.

The money will help pay for water and sewer lines to homes in that area, some of which were connected this week.
“Everyone really turned out to be a winner (in the project),” Mayor Ed Zabrocki said.
The neighborhood, which was annexed in November, comprises about 25 acres between 92nd and 94th Avenues south of 183rd Street.
