Michele Anders, principal at Rich East High School in Park Forest, and Ken Reczkiewicz, principal at Rich South in Richton Park, are leaving to pursue other interests.
The resignations were announced during a school board meeting Monday night. Also, the school board announced that Prentiss Lea, principal at Crete-Monee High School, will take over at Rich East, a school of about 1,350 students.
School officials are beginning the search for a replacement at Rich South, which has about 1,000 students.
Supt. Brian Knutson said Lea was hired, in part, because of his ability to “develop shared leadership and a common vision.”
Knutson said that while at Crete-Monee, Lea developed a district-wide gang policy and a zero-tolerance policy that helped reduce disciplinary incidents at the school.
