The Lincoln-Way High School Board has voted a salary increase averaging between 3 and 3.5 percent for administrators, support staff and transportation workers.
The transportation category showed the most increase, with the enrollment growth spurring the addition of one driver, two activity runs, 11 shuttle runs and one zero-hour route, Superintendent Lawrence Wyllie said.
In the administrative category, the position of full-time vocational education director was not filled. Those duties will be shared by other administrators, and the savings will be used to pay salaries for two new student services jobs.
Jay Johnson, currently director of Lincoln-Way Special Recreation, and Steve Hayes, currently a recreation supervisor for the New Lenox Park District, were hired Thursday as coordinators of student activities.
As coordinators, Johnson and Hayes will try to encourage students to participate in activities.
