Culture buffs will be able to sample the attractions at four village museums May 17 for free in observance of International Museum Day.
The Elmhurst Art Museum, the Elmhurst Historical Museum, the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and the Theatre Historical Society of America all have special events planned. A free double-decker bus will shuttle visitors between sites.
A one-man jazz band will perform at the art museum; games and free refreshments are on tap at the historical museum; and silversmithing and gem-cutting demonstrations are scheduled at the Lizzadro Museum. The Theatre Historical Society will present the video “American Movie Palaces.”
