With more than 100 households participating, last year’s Village-Wide Garage Sale could be called a resounding success.
But according to organizers, in some ways the two-weekend event was too successful for its own good.
With sales held one weekend in yards and garages throughout the north side of the village and the following weekend on the south side, many bargain-hunters complained of being too “shopped out” to do justice to the second weekend’s sales, village media coordinator Larry McIntyre said.

So, to remedy the situation, this year the sales will be held one month apart, giving shoppers and their wallets a chance to recuperate.
The south side edition of the Village-Wide Garage Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Friday and Saturday. The north side sales will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 19 and 20. Call 630-829-9378, ext. 2, to sign up.
