All work and some play: Dr. J. Aaron Wolfe, sports fan and chiropractor, has found a way to team work with play.

Wolfe, who has a private practice at Sports and Spine Rehab in Frankfort and serves as head athletic trainer at Lincoln-Way High School, has been named team chiropractor for the Chicago Fire Soccer Team.

Wolfe has long planned to combine sports training and conditioning with a chiropractic practice. The two fields fit together because both focus on prevention of injuries, according to Wolfe.

“Exercise is the key (in both) athletic training and chiropractic,” he says.

In 1996, he worked as a baseball trainer for the Junior PanAm and World Basketball Games, and last year he traveled to Taiwan as trainer for the age 16 and under Junior Olympics baseball team.

The Chicago Fire, a Major League Soccer expansion team, began playing this spring. As team chiropractor, Wolfe will work with soccer players to prevent and repair muscular and skeletal injuries.
