The spending plan includes about $18.6 million in the general fund, an increase of 7.3 percent, and about $5.1 million in the water-sewer departments, an increase of 9.6 percent, Village Manager Dave Dorgan said.
Under the new budget property-tax rates will rise to $1.11 per $100 of equalized assessed valuation from $1.09, meaning residents owning a $190,000 home would see an annual increase of $10 on the village portion of their property-tax bill.
Revenues are projected to be $17.3 million. Last year’s revenues exceeded projections by 5.2 percent, officials said.
This year’s budget includes two new full-time positions: a telecommunicator and Water Department laborer.
Other expenses include $247,000 for police squad cars, $50,000 for a public works end loader, $200,000 for sidewalks and landscaping, $90,000 budgeted over two years for a salt storage building and $120,000 for work at three fire stations.
